David Bracken

I was born in Bradford, an industrial town in Yorkshire England.

From 12 years old attended the Bradford Regional College of Art until the age of 16 when my parents moved down to the south coast, there I continued my studies at the Eastbourne Art school, after break of two years for military service, I continued at the Art school until I was 22.

I then worked in London for a number of studios as a freelance illustrator.

Came to Sweden in 1958 and worked initially for SAS with freelance illustration.

Many commissions followed:
For several publishers, encyclopedia Focus for example, educational illustrations, and architectural drawings, and paintings of technical subjects.

  • For several  publishers, e.g. illustrations for encyclopaedias

  • For L R F, PK-banken, Handelsbanken, SE-Banken. Stal Laval.

  • For companies such as Atlas Copco. Gränges, Svenska Stål, Skånska Cement, Nohab-Tampella.

  • For Sida in Ethiopia.

  • For the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe.

  • For the Swedish Governments opening ceremony and year book.

  • Engineers science academy.

  • and many others...
