“Absolut” is a common Swedish world with the same meaning as the English absolute.

For some reason that may be difficult to explain it has been possible to register this word as a trade mark for a common vodka. Nevertheless I am allowed to use this word on this site because I am not in any way competing with any commercial product.
(It took some time for the holder of the trade mark to realize this.)

There is another Swedish word “citron” meaning lemon, but Citron is also a family name in many countries. One may wonder how it is possible to name a vodka “Absolut Citron”. I doubt very much that the Citron families were asked about allowance to use their name. But money is stronger than common sense.
